Request from Mr. Frank Fabel, CPA, CA, MA
Frank would like to know if he is allowed to enter into audit contracts in which the client reserves the right, in case of a conflict with him, “to issue a final interpretation of the matter, which will be binding.” Frank believes that his independence is compromised and requests that the Association prohibit members from entering into such contracts. He asks that the Association compel members to cancel existing contracts of this nature within a period of two years from the date of the Committee’s decision.
The Ethics Committee will gather evidence on behalf of the case.
