Event Description

Jackline Nakiganda, an Erasmus Mundus student in her last year (Public Sector Innovation and eGovernance), citizen of Uganda, and currently placed in Tallinn, Estonia, will exchange experience with practitioners from the field on how to best organise the distribution of humanitarian aide in war zones, in particular in Ukraine. In the last years, Uganda always played a leading role in the area of e-governance of social services. Let us try to make use of the experiences in other countries!

Is cash distribution really a good option? What about E-vouchers or other voucher systems?

How to ensure that the intended purpose is met?

How to prevent funds being embezzled away from intended beneficiaries? How long does it  take to establish a suitable system?

These and other question will be discussed at our panel discussion on 8 April – together with other colleagues from Ukraine and elsewhere.

To be hosted by Frank Fabel.
Update: Welthungerhilfe allowed us to distribute the attached manual – see learning materials. We will discuss how these experiences can be applied in the current circumstances. Please also note the attached article from Lee/Adam.
