In the autumn of 2019, the General Assembly of Empacta ®, the Association of International Auditors, introduced a new project – the Flying Accounting University.
From the beginning the Flying Accounting University has been a purely online and virtual initiative, without a national home, and – by its nature –radically cosmopolitan.
Not Just a Tool
Accounting - a Social Science
We refuse to see accounting as mere number crunching or as a discipline that is limited to compliance with national rules. The accountant and accounting are not just a tool for business owners and professional managers.
In our view, accounting is an independent, self-reflective and critical discipline, closely interrelated with the socio-political, cultural and ecological processes within which it operates. As such, it is a social science.
We believe that the social dimension of accounting, auditing and financial management deserves particular attention.
No Grades
We present online events
The Flying Accounting University does not issue academic grades. We present online events for accountants, auditors, financial controllers and project managers, and anyone interested in these fields.
We constantly seek lecturers and trainers, willing to give lectures, discussions or training workshops. We hope that this platform can serve as a medium to exchange ideas as well as to create sustainable networks of enthusiastic professionals.
